California Schools and SAT

3 questions:

  1. So I am planning on taking the November SAT, but I just found out I am eligible for one more fee waiver for the SAT (i used the first one on the november one since I didn't know i qualified until recently) so should i bother taking the December SAT since it's free? The only colleges I am applying to are instate (which in Oregon are 100% safety schools) and the UCs, Cal States, and USC. Do these california colleges accept the December SAT? I know that most application deadlines are november 30th but I heard some colleges you can send a SAT afterwards?
  2. Do UC's, CSU, and USC use your highest SAT score from one sitting, or superscore? I tried searching but could not find a definitive answer.
  3. Since USC isn't a CSU, or UC, does that mean I have to get collegeboard to send my SAT scores to them separately?

Thank you!

  1. SDSU is the only campus listed on your other post that will only accept up to the November SAT test sitting. The UC’s and the rest of the Cal states (except Cal Poly SLO) accept up to the December sitting but you will need to have the test scores sent before you see the results to make the deadline.

  2. UC’s use the highest score from a single sitting. CSU’s superscore and so does USC.

  3. You have to send your scores to USC specifically. For the Cal states and UC’s , you send your score to one school (CSU and UC) and they will be shared by all the other CSU’s and UC’s you have applied.

Thank you Gumbymom!

Hey Gumbymom, can you check out my most recent thread on SAT Score reporting, you are obviously very knowledgeable on this topic and would like your input
