hahahhha :D

I'm a CC student transferring to a UC, luckily the UC I want to go to (UCSD) is part of the TAG agreement, thus I'm guaranteed admission. I did pretty poorly in my first year of college in NY, and if it weren't for the CCs here I'd be SOL for college in general. I'm getting a 4.0 now and a second chance at a first rate university. I gotta praise the government of California for once!

Yes, Americans are lucky to have an educational system that gives student a chance to redeem themselves and attend their college of choice. To my knowledge, some countries, such as parts of Asia, do not have community colleges thus those who graduate from high school with a low GPA + test scores are pretty much out of luck. I am sure that the competition to get into good universities over there is at least 2 times greater than in the U.S.

In addition: They almost finish calculus including multivariable calculus in high school. Their general education in high school in most Asia countries are similar to the general education in our American college.
