I started this as a new discussion, not to discuss the Coronavirus, but wanted the topic heading to be prominent for everyone to see.
There are schools that are switching to online classes this spring and sending students home for a short or indefinite period of time. Make sure you call or email before you visit, even if you had already scheduled and confirmed prior to this week.
Ohio State cancelled classes earlier today and the Gov of Ohio has called for all Ohio schools to cancel in person classes and in door activities - so Otterbein has just cancelled in person classes as well. Still waiting to hear if they are going to allow rehearsal for the Spring Musical which is set to open at end of March
Well that shoots our college visit at Otterbein. S is currently freaking out that he will have to make a decision on attending a school sight unseen. I feel for him.
@NYYFanNowMTdad wow…thanks for the update. We are scheduled to visit Lynn next Wednesday our flight is on Tuesday. Still holding out hope we will be ok!
It’s pretty hard to take tap and ballet online. My son also has stage makeup and diction this semester … so I don’t know how he will do that online either
As a person who takes dance classes at Kent State, this is an absolute nightmare for us and the whole department. I am so sorry for all the other people this affects.
Sorry! posted this in the wrong thread a few min ago:
I just learned that Crucible Cast Party (CCP) Instagram account has tours of quite a few school theatre depts from this year where the kids did takeovers, including CCM, Niagara, Rider, Arizona, OU, Elon, Temple, Western Connecticut, etc. It might be worth checking out if your school is on there. The instagram name is ccp.admins and these are in the “stories.” not posts.
Western Connecticut State University is on spring break next week and then is moving to online classes from 3/23-4/3. At this point, they plan to resume in-person classes on 4/6, but that may change.
FSU is on spring break next week. After spring break, classes will be online from March 23 through April 3rd, as of right now. This could change depending upon the situation over the next couple of weeks.
