Calling a STATS person!

Is there anyone out there who loves working with statistics and has WAY TOO MUCH time on his or her hands?

You know what would be really cool? If someone would go through the STATS ONLY thread and figure out the average- for accepted and for rejected College Confidential members-
SAT
ACT
GPA-UW
<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/642272-stats-only-usc-decisons-2009-a.html?highlight=STAts%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/642272-stats-only-usc-decisons-2009-a.html?highlight=STAts</a></p>

Of course this will be an unscientific survey, but it still will be interesting. Maybe those statistics can be posted at the end of the STATS ONLY thread.

Thank you to anyone who wants to take on this challenge!!! :D :D :D

Ever hear of the phrase, “garbage in, garbage out?”

ouch. I sense a party-pooper!

!!!

How would this be different than the information USC already provides? Many would like to believe that the average CC-er is not representative of the average applicant. This is a bit like the 90% of drivers who believe that they are above-average. While the average person on CC may be somewhat more accomplished than the average applicant, I see no reason why the pool of accepted students would not be representative of the acceptance policies of the university.

If the goal is a non-scientific survey, one is already available

All one has to do is copy/paste it into Excel, turn on AutoFilter, select all rows for “Accepted” and “Will attend” students and compile summary stats. Takes 30 seconds, the results are

Math: 735/700/775
CR: 700/660/738
W: 690/662/747

First number is median, second is Q1, third is Q3
