Please help next year's applicants...

I'm so sorry to those of you who were not accepted to USC, but I'm convinced everyone here on CC is a real go-getter and will do well at any college.

Would you please post your stats on the STATS ONLY thread?
<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/474814-how-post-acceptance-stats.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/474814-how-post-acceptance-stats.html</a></p>

My sincere GOOD LUCK to all!

If you use the template at the start of the STATS ONLY thread,

DELETE ALL THE SPACES INSIDE OF THE BRACKETS

to get it to format correctly.

Posts to the stats thread have really tapered off. Surprisingly, there have been so few admissions from the most recent wave of 3/28, despite USC's claims that at least 50% of the admissions were offered at that time. Goes to prove the claims that the median CC poster is quite a bit different from the median applicant. If this situation is representative, I would say that the median CC poster is more representative of the third quartile applicant. Good luck to those who still wait to hear anything. I agree that this must be very frustrating.

Not sure we can ascribe any credibility to the various comments made over the phone or on the web site.

Press release saying all decisions mailed 3/28

Web site still says all will know decisions by 4/1. Even if that is a mail-by date, here in Norcal it has been four working days.

Various claims that mailing all done on 28th, or on 29th, or on 1st, or that many acceptances still coming. Mail always coming in next couple of days.

Not sure if the people saying this things really know anything or are simply reading off scripts or repeating the official web site claims.

Maybe USC posted everything in super-cheap bulk mail style which gives the USPS the freedom to sit on the envelopes as long as they want, until it is convenient to deliver them.

At this point, everthing is still a major mystery and the various statements don't seem to fit together.

Since we can't get a true answer until the 11th of April, I guess we won't know fully until that date. No-one in the office is going to check into the status for anyone until that date, at which point even they will have to admit that the mail is lost or misdirected or something else has gone wrong.

Sorry if I sound a bit frustrated.

Can any of the students that have been accepted log into any of their USC accts. RSVP, Financial aid etc. Did they give you a new code with your acceptance?

krfrances: I don't think the log-ins matter yet. There are rejected that can log-in and some accepted that can't. I don't think it makes a difference whether you can or not.
