Now is good. Indoc ends 7/21 and inprocessing for classes starts 7/24.

What is Band Company? Is it all kids in tha band (as it would sound?) or is it something totally different? how many kids is it? When do you need it mailed? I'll do Band Company, but please let me know what it is. If it needs to be mailed like today, I can't. I can't even get it together until at earliest thursday or more likely Friday. Is that to late for this endeavor? Do you send just one box of bunches of stuff for all to share? etc.... maybe these answers are posted someplace earlier, but could you let me know? I don't want to see the band kids left out so will do it - but if it really is band (music) kids, that would be interesting. Thanks.

MomofHopeful2011, thats awfully sweet of you. Yes, these kids are in band. There are about 36 of them in that company. Don't worry that your box will be late. They will still enjoy whatever you're able to do & when.

Does anyone else find themselves explaining the contents of their grocery carts to the cashier and baggers? I felt like I had to justify having a cart with $200 worth of junk food and sunscreen.

It was a lot of fun making those boxes, though. Tomorrow the stuff goes out for USMMA!

^^^ LOL!

Only I get the looks from the postmaster- cause I clean out all the flat rate boxes on a weekly basis! He now asks me what is in this week's box! Too funny!

LFWB Dad- my box will be ready for delivery- to the gate- on Saturday. Count on it!

Thanks,

Next?

On Brave Old Army Team?

My son wrote that he was given a care package from Colorado. He said it was addressed to the Chaplain Center. Since no care packages had been delivered to his room for a while, they gave them one of the extras. Would have been funny if it was one I had mailed!! I felt a little bad! Oops! I am sure he enjoyed the variety. Thanks to the Colorado family for taking care of my plebe!!

Oooh, ask him what was in it--maybe it was from me!

Wow, I'm totally amazed at what you all have accomplished. As a finally graduated cadet, from the first and original military academy, I'd like to extend thanks to all the parents who ever threw some extra stuff into the grocery cart for their homesick plebe. Boxes are always appreciated, and many parents clubs do ones for Halloween, Valentine's day, and Easter. They rarely last for more than a day or two. I would encourage you to just pick a date and mail them as a surprise. 3 March, maybe? (A=1 B=2 C=3, CC = 33, ok, I'll stop :))

Today, I got a thank you note from one of the plebes I sent a box to. Since I had to put a return address on the box- the letter was addressed to "another plebe's mom". The young lady who wrote me told me a little about herself and thank me for the things I sent. So, I decided that since I was sending out one to Bobby- this young girl was getting adopted by me. I packed up another box- realizing it was for a girl and sent some stuff for her to use- especially stamps and envelopes- which my son keeps requesting. I am suggesting that if anyone else gets a thank you note- to somewhat adopt the plebe they get it from with some homemade goodies.

^^^^ wow! How great was that!!!

Ovens have been working overtime all weekend..... :)

No ovens in Ohio- heat is expected to be in mid 90s- hope its been in Annapolis:)

well I guess we could always try those refrigerator cookies....

....hmmmm....wonder how we could mail those! ;)

Don't laugh, I plan on taking a cooler care on for ppw- Stocking up stuff like homemade cheesecake and the like for my plebe. Can't wait to go through airport security.

Sorry about the cheesecake middiesmom... I'll bet it was missed.

Anyone want to get the ball rolling again with sending some love to USMA? I'm dying here. I've got nobody to send a box to. They don't deliver at sea....I've got a few Mids picked out at USMMA I'm going to send to next week because I'm lonely & almost checked myself into boodle re-hab. LOL

Can we just send a box to the Chaplin at USMA with a note to go to any Cadet that hasn't been receiving boxes from home?

JM feel free to send some boodle to Charlie Company, C/o Chase Hall,USCGA, New London, CT 06320

I've not heard of "any cadet" boxes at USMA, but I will check with some folks and let you know!

JM...count me in!

Ok Boss. I'm game. I'm gonna find every orange edible thing I can find. LOL It will be going off in a big orange box to Charlie Co. with a special note. They will be able to tell you what it says. :D Need to know how many kids in Charlie. Please advise asap. LOL I love surprises!!!
