Any other parents out there missing thier mids? This was my first to launch and while I am excited for her, am missing her presence greatly.

sistersunnie: join the rest of us missing our mids....we're hanging out in the "Calling all bakers" thread......bake some cookies for her along with another mid! It really helps!!!! Hope you'll join in!!! Please do sign up!

Yes, yes, yes...can't seem to get him off my mind!!! But, the post card came today!!! -- He said he was doing well and he can't wait until tomorrow!! He didn't say what today was or what would be happening tomorrow??? Everything he said was positive. I can't tell you how many times I have read the four sentences. Anyway, it was great to hear from him. I hope you ALL get your letters soon.
Can't wait to hear how all these kids are doing!

Beam, welcome to world of coded letters. This is all part of being a new academy parent! LOL You must figure out what they are trying to say! And, I can guess how many times you've read those four lines. So glad you got a letter. Its what keeps ya going. Just knowing they are still there & alive. ;) Mail box watch mommies!!

Yeah, missing her a ton
walked by a family photo of her as a 3 year old passionately hugging and kissing her older brother....found myself touching her face on the wall....I hadn't ever, ever, ever done that.

Today I discovered her photo posted by a parent as she marched JUST YESTERDAY out of chapel. I woke up the house with my whooping and hollaring I was so excited....

Got the first letter today in the mail....I'm all smiles....

the 4th of July I bet will have extra special meaning for us all this year....knowing yet another group of young people, this time some of our own flesh and blood - have joined the long line of patriots before them who are willing to lay down their lives for our freedoms, our/their country.

For all current and former military on this forum,
for all parents/relatives of the same

Thanks

Peskemom,

I also looked through all those photos of the "Plebes" (I still feel funny saying that word...) leaving the chapel late last night. I couldn't stop myself! I wasn't so lucky to find my son, but I still felt great after seeing them all. Any glimpse of what they are doing is calming. The I-Day pictures are great, but I want to see what they are doing now!
I am glad you are all smiles!

Here's to more letters arriving...to go along with the chocolate and merlot??

My password at work has been my son's name for the past at least 3 years, when I went to work today, my first day back since I-Day, the computer said my password expired and I had to pick a new one...kind of sad...what timing...

are these pictures posted online somewhere? i want to see if i can see my friends...

Me TOO !!!!!!!!!!

And do you remember just a few short months ago staring at the mailbox while waiting for that big envelope? Now it's hoping and praying that you'd be staring at your mailbox willing it to produce a few short lines letting you know everything is ok...

OK. I'm puzzled. Where are the photos of the Mids coming out of church. Came someone please provide us a link so we can sneak a peek?
