any of u want to transfer to US school from Canadian university? such as U of T?

not yet...but if i dont make it this year, it might be a possibility for the next.

I've heard rumours that there's less financial aid for people who do this, which makes me reluctant to go that route.

yes definitely, but i will probably transfer after at least two years.

hmm....how hard is it to get in through the transfer route?

don't know, probably hard lol

how hard would U of T be considered?

dear canadians do you know anything about university of prince edward island , i applied there because it seems a nice place , a great small university and also quite affordable.

I know of UPEI, I live somewhat close to there. It's a beautiful campus and all, but the education there is known to be poor. Of course I could be wrong, but my parents didn't even let me consider the option of going there because I got recruited... Also, PEI is not a good place to live actually... You need to pay 40$ EVERYTIME you want to use the bridge to leave the island so your pretty much stuck there. I think you can find a better university in the same price range. Of course I never went there! It might be absolutely awesome.

40$ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! each time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that's ACTUALLY insane, its like a prison island, lol

Yeah! It's a 13 km bridge, the longest of its kind in the world, and it cost billions to build. That's why it's so expensive. It sucks

hey all! i was just wondering how grades in Canada would translate into the American system, and at what schools a 93% average in Ontario would have. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

93% is a 4.6-4.7w
4.0uw
that is really good
which school you go to?
90% avg are almost unheard of at schools i went to, i have been to many high schools

i go to a public school in Ontario

is this senior year or your entire gpa?

good point, my entire GPA is 84%
but my senior is about 86%, going to be higher
but anyway, if you have 93 for the entire GPA that's what counts for american schools
but if you have 93 only for senior year then, it's still good, but just not as good

ya there is a huge difference bw my grades in senior year and the rest

its my overall average

wow, you don't slack off do you
93 is excellent

im canadian, senior, accepted ED to cornell, have about 91-92% ish 4yr average, up to this last semester obviously...last semester was a 94.sumtin average, grd 9 was like 90, 10=about 91, 1=about 92 11=about 93 i think, lol, but i dont expecta 12=94 cuz im taking hardest courses in the curriculum, and all this semester, and also im already accepted....so i want a min of 85.5% ave this semseter, so i would have a 90% all thru 4 yrs of high school...

and i thought all those ivy league students had full high school marks = to and greater than mine??? their SAT's were def. higher than mine, but i believe its cuz i didnt know wut SAT was till last yr, lol, im canadian! lol, and by the way, i go to a regular, run of the mill public school in ontario too...and last yr i was rankied 6th in my school for marks (but sum kids took those easy music and artsy classes, im all math/science.

up till reading this thread, i thought i was ave or below ave to the americans (ivy league at least) but from wut i JUST read, sounds like im not so far off.. kinda implies that ontario schools = harder ?? but i donno at all
