I would like to know if there are any other stepmoms on this rollercoaster ride.

yes i think it is great

That made me smile Supportstepmom. Hang on to that sense of humor! It'll keep ya sane. I sure thought someone would have jumped in here. Must be shy people out there huh.... :D Well, I'll send a big smile your way & hope you try to keep your hands inside the cart for the ride. Will you be seeing your Candidate off at the airport or going to KP to drop them off for Indoc? Either way, many congrats for having a KP kid & safe travels.

Supportstepmom,
although i'm not a stepmom, i do have one and i will tell you this. she has been a very strong pillar of support throughout my time here. she's easily one of my best friends and can say that her role is not going unappreciated. while i can't speak for your situation, but if you're anything like my stepmom you will be a great help and friend to your mid.
: )

My wife and LWFB's Mom have been through the whole ordeal together. From interview prep to indoc to parents weekend -- where we all went to dinner and a play together -- to coordinating getting his passport to him in NY three hours before his plane was to leave to catch his next ship, while I was blissfully locked in the tank at the puzzle palace.

Hi to all and especially to all Stepmoms!

Our KP Plebe candidate was off yesterday from Las Vegas and I'm so excited to have already seen some pics on Shutterfly, thanks for those!! Our family, all together.....Mom and Stepmom, Dad and Stepdad and Sister said our tearful goodbyes at the airport very early yesterday. It was a moment, let me tell you, but we made it through. Then, of course, we waited on pins and needles, watched the webcams (actually was watching when the Barney Square cam froze:-) and awaiting any word. Mom (kawalla) showed me the ropes on how to find the webcams and also College Confidential. I went to work and immediately visited my IT department to ensure I could get the webcam on my work computer (I don't think they were supposed to let me, but I appealed to their parent-side:-). Late last night Mom called me and told me about Shutterfly and I now have a great picture as my background! I slept so much easier last night. I know all will be well, but still can't wait for any work/pic or cam. Hope you all are doing well!!

Its nice to know there are other stepmom's out there. Sometimes it is tuff to know how you fit in to this rollercoaster ride. So far my experience has been good. Made it it through the first day as one big happy family dad, stepmom, mom and stepdad. I am so proud of my stepson.

Thanks for your kind words about your stepmom. Sometimes we are not recognized for all we do. We love our stepchildren and want the best for them just as much as dads and moms do!

for sure,
i can imagine it's tough to be a stepmom, but as i said, you are appreciated and loved for who you are and the support you give. don't ever think you're being overlooked, without the stepmoms and stepdads out there, this place would be much harder.

SUPPORTSTEPMON, you are definitely not alone in your quest. Our children as wonderful as they are could not be where they are with out a large support base in their lives. This includes parents and stepparents as well. My son has a wonderful stepmother that has been very influential in his life for many years. She cried with the rest of us when he thanked her for all she had done for him as he walked through the gate to begin Indoc. You are truly wonderful people to help the rest of us raise our children. God bless you and all the stepmoms out there for all you do! As we tell our candidates, hang in there and don’t give up! Thanks is2day4him for your support of your stepmom!
