"I wouldn't turn down Syracuse over 1 or 2 students personal experiences."
Well said, House of London. And I'd like to point out that you're not going to get a lot of middle-of-the-road perspectives on CC. Why would a current college student post? Either they used CC in high school and want to pass on the help they got, or they have a very strong opinion (either positive or negative) about their school. Depending on the thread you pick, you get one perspective or the other. Personally, I love it here, and I am neither rich nor preppy. Nor am I much of one for greek life...there are lots of non-greek parties, by the way, which no one seems to realize...syracuse social life does NOT entirely revolve around the frats, and thank goodness for that!

Hey zel, what year are u?
Zel's right, There are more non greek parties than greek. In the greek houses you often have to be on the list, and the council is trying to get frats to hold parties in other venues, like bars. There have been some bar raids this year, and everyone has been on their toes.
And what are we college kids doing on this site? Of course we're either really interested in college admissions or just really wanna spill (Plus Threekids keeps telling me "you should really answer this kid"). Whatever it is, we all have a slant. I'm a Newhouse ambassador/peer advisor/student rep. I have a Newhouse bias (uhm, duh).

Hi threekid'skid.....when do you guys get your assignments of Newhouse freshman for advising????

Also, since you mentioned that you will be one, a quick question: How do you register for classes without knowing your AP scores from senior year?

I'll get them at the end of June or beginning of July. Unfortunately, I may be out of the country if it's the beginning of July. As far as registering, she'll have her AP scores by the time she gets her registration material, or at least before it's due. If she needs to change her classes later, she'll have a scheduled time to work with her peer adviser on opening weekend.

Hey guys, facebook me. My name is Talie and I'm the only one at Syracuse.

I think it's best to just send a direct link to your face book because you really aren't the only Talia from Syracuse

I believe her name is Talie, and there is only one Talie at SU.

i was a frosh this past year, econ and policy (math minor) in a&s...yeah i'm also an ambassador, but for a&s...and I'm an orientation leader, so i'll see y'all when you arrive! (there's only 30 or so of us)

Haha Talie Tebbi? Found ya.

Anarchy45 said: Indeed. I thought my rich-prep-suburban-high-school was bad enough. Hated every year of it, and was happy as could be to move on to college. Thought things could only go up from where they had been. WRONG. Instead of 1500 preps, I am now surrounded by 15 THOUSAND.

I expected college to be extremely academic - that classes would all be challenging and difficult, that everybody would be active and engaged in what they were learning. Nope. Wrong again.

I'm sorry. I had to post this. This made me laugh so hard because it is soooo true. I'm a current Syracuse student as well and would have to agree.

that sounds like my high school in a nutshell.
