Calling all writers, scientists, or just plain science lovers on HSL!

@enchanted31 l’m interested! I’d love to become a peer reviewer!! I also have a vast knowledge of glaciers if you guys want to add an extra topic!

Just a clarification: In the PM I sent you, I actually wrote “We understand that some people may not have extensive research experience; if this applies to you, then you can definitely write an article to submit to us. Since we are just starting out, our guidelines are pretty flexible–aim for about 550 words, though you can certainly write more if you wish. Once you submit your article/research to us, then you can officially join our team, and you will be able to choose the position you want.”

So, we’re accepting scientific/mathematics articles in addition to original research, so as to not exclude the people like Capitalamerica, who cannot currently publish any research paper. We’ve also expanded our topics to include earth sciences, astronomy, agricultural sciences, engineering and technology, and psychology.

Finally, we still have positions available as administrators. editors of these fields, peer reviewers, media and publicity officers, and web masters. PM me if you’re interested!

@enchanted31 Ah, yes that is true. I totally skipped over the article part; sorry about that. :)

No problem, I hope this clarification will convince you to submit to us and join our board :)

I am aware of the NHSJS website, but from our journal (PRYSM Peer-Reviewed journal for Young Scientists and Mathematicians) will be different from NHSJS in these ways:

faster review time
From past experience, NHSJS can take several weeks to review your paper, but our journal aims to notify authors of their papers’ submission or rejection within 2 weeks. Considering our current tiered review process, the time will likely be cut down to as little as 1 week.

more involvement from members
We’ve created board positions (administrators, editors, peer reviewers, web masters, and most recently media and publicity officers) because we want readers to be actively engaged in either the review process or the maintenance of the website. PRYSM isn’t just a convenient place to submit your research/articles, it’s also a way for you to get involved in the peer review process and learn how to edit other students’ work. We also welcome questions and comments about the website or journal, which we will respond to within 3 days. Overall, I would say that PRYSM aims to incorporate students more than does NHSJS.
