hahahah seriously.....

So if I was invited to apply for the Regents' Scholarship, would it be safe to not take a third year of a foreign language? How important is the recommended year?

Regents means you are essentially in. However, I would take that third year. Not only will you learn from it, but you might learn enough that you can try to test out of it and get that part of your GE out of the way.

My problem is that I put Spanish 3 on the application, so I'm worried that switching out could make a difference. I really don't want to take the class, though, so I'm not sure what to do.

Just suck it up and take it. You're probably not gonna like all the classes you take in college, so start getting used to it in high school.

do you guys remmeber what the prompts were? or anybody know?

i got the invite, signed in once and glanced at it. and now when i try to sign back in it wouldnt let me, so im trying start working on the essays

thx!

After submitting it, did anyone get some sort of confirmation that it was received? Mine just went back to the blank application.

Mine did the same thing, definitely a little worrying...

sp_sspu and frostyeel: RESEND IT. they have not gotten your application. the server timed out b/c you probably spent too much time on it.

you only have about 20 mins on the server. i called ucla regents b/c i had the same problem. they said that you only have 20 mins to send it after opening the web page.

i resent it before the 20 mins and i was able to get a confirmation.

^
thank you!!
if i hadn't read this.. i wouldn't have really turned it in then
x___x ty!

Thanks so much jason!

So we couldn't write paragraphs? After I submitted it, the version I was shown put each essay into one paragraph.

yeah.. same
i think it's just like that. ;[

haha np guys...just think, i could have not said anything at all ;)

Now that the submitting is done and the committee probably start reading them today, what is going to happen next.

they will let you know in your admission decisions if you got it

and then you'll live happily ever after! :D

Wait, I'm confused....

Is the Reagents scholarship everyone is talking about the same as the alumni one?

no those are two separate scholarships. Most (if not all) UCLA applicants are invited to the alumni scholarship. I believe only a select few are asked to participate in the regents scholarship.

So pretty much if you didn't an email about that then you still have to wait for what happens to u?
