no package for me either, nomad :(

lol nomad

As for me, I attempted to call, but after 2 failures, I decided not to push through. I mean, if it's bad news, which 99% likely, my mind would fail to function properly. And I have a Valedictory speech to make. Hehe. :)

After I'm done though, I'll gather all my courage and dial the number. Wish me luck :)

goooood luckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

i used boston for MIT.. the person asked for the city. i said cambridge but apparently it didn't work.. w.e :(

You should've used the zip code 02139.....

michy88 - the DHL person I called didn't give much info, but yes there are MIT packages bound for singapore.

I was gone for 24 hours, and the post count of this thread increased by 250 and view count by 5,000!

**Congrats to perfectdark9, amrik, adides, and meder

When you call, don't start off by giving your name and asking if there's any package bound for you. They might have typed your name wrongly, as they did in my case and perfectdark's. Start off by asking if there's any packages from MIT to your country. Then if yes, the operator will ask for your name, and it's easier to match any spelling mistakes from there.

If you don't have a package, don't lose heart! There's still a good chance that you're waitlisted, not rejected. MIT expects to admit some people from the waitlist this year, because they have accepted a fewer number of people than the last.

Best of luck, everyone! :)

i'm so afraid to call...sniff
i have a trial exam now, and for me ignorance is bliss (not counting the fact that i am ignorant). cries
if i call, and hear the words, "sorry, no package for you. you suck. bye." i'd jump. falls dead

"good luck" to all guys that are to call or to wait for a package... "never mind" to all rejected... and "well done" to all acceptees...

ganiezclone....u congratulating me for not getting in??? man, thats like rubbin salt on the wound....i know my post might have made it sound as if i got the 'dhl package' but i have not/am not calling... i dont have any chance...and am leaving for my vacation in less than 18 hours...so dont want to spoil it :) but in all probability...i dont think i'd be a part of mit class of 2009 :(

lol... I'm sorry. I must have been confused reading through the previous 10 pages. Don't think of it as "rubbing salt on the wound." For all we know, you do not yet have a wound. Think of my congratulation as a good sign that you're getting in! Good luck, and have a great vacation! :)

thx bud...congratulations to you...asks for ganiezclone's autograph :p

my package is in Brussels :)

Mine is in Venezuela.

it seems that we're gonna get our letters tommorow :D

Yeah. Too bad I have a school exam in the morning and then APMO (Asia-Pacific Mathematics Olympiad) in the afternoon tomorrow. =\ I don't feel like studying at all.

hey, GOOD LUCK at APMO!

Heh I will need it. I didn't study for it this year because I was too worried about MIT. Now I'm looking at some functional equations, they are easy, but the number theory is killer. The geometry looks possible but hard.
