Someone at my school said he called the admissions office and they told him that he was waitlisted. I'm not sure whether to believe him or not... would the admissions office give out their decisions so easily? Then again, apparently this kid is a legacy at Stanford. Would they be more eager to give out decisions to legacies? It seems a little fishy to me.

Paranoid, paranoid, paranoid... does calling work? I tried calling and I got their automated message, so I figured they would be annoyed if I asked.

At this point, I don't think it even matters anymore, because Friday is just three days away...right?

Decisions will not be available before the time noted above; nor will they be available by phone, email or in person.

I think it does sound fishy. Their e-mail clearly says that the decision will not be available early or by phone. Like you said, in any case, the decisions come out on Friday, so I'd just wait out these three days. ;)

(I seriously want to bypass this whole week and get to Friday. Now.)

deepo, this legacy friend of yours is full of ****! Stanford is a very straigtforward university in that it sticks to its word for all applicants, regardless of legacy status or not. Also, no phone call decisions available through Stanford
