Hahaha I just found that out. I guess you can either wait by mail or find out by phone a few days earlier. Who here is going to call?? I don't know whats worse. Rejection by phone or rejection by mail...

ok wait do you mean to say that you can call for your decision before Dec. 15 or that since the mail sometimes arrives later (i.e. after Dec 15), you can call them on the 15th and get your decision?

either way im calling, if they wanna reject me they're gonna have to tell it to me over the phone.

lol. I don't know, getting a rejection over the phone seems worse than just a piece of mail.

would they have an automated system over the phone? or will you actually get a live person telling you whether or not you got in?

im pretty sure its a real person.

haha. I can just imagine that!

"Let me check, hmm...let's see. Oh, sorry, you were rejected!!!! MWAHAHAHA."

It is like a nightmare...I could never call!

lol, is no one else gonna call, ill prob start calling monday (dec 12). Id rather know I got rejected as soon as I can then wait it out. Someone here has to have some guts.

why would it be a live person...isn't that why we have "pin" numbers?
and i'll call...does anyone know when we can start calling?
or what the number is?

yeah... my friend told me that he's pretty sure they'd have an automated system... but what would it be like?

HAHAHAHAHA. that would really really really... suck.

I thought it was a real person because i looked at last years messages and they said it was a real person.

personally, i think getting the letter is the coolest way of doing it. its so dramatic and awesome, you can do your special ritual before it. reassure yourself etc. you lose all of that with electronics.

wait. phone? call? admissions? what oO?

please elaborate. who do we call? when can we call? thanks ^^

Whatthecluck?! Are they going to make 4000+ phone calls? Unless they have real people do it, that seems so unlike Stanford. Just think of the phone bill!

i'd hate to be the person they make reject kids over the phone

you can choose to call them. they dont call you.

when can you start calling?

I don't think calls are intended for US students. As far as I understand, in the past, you called if you didn't get your letter by a said date, which is usually posted online. I know that int'l students however, have their own special line to call in...

Run4fun, how did you hear about the phone notification?

Ashveer, even if they say it's just for int'ls, maybe you can call! (since you'll be in India, right?)

Yeah, and I'll be in...............near Canada. I'm calling!
