Congrats ATLAST and MTmama2013! I think my son had the same glitch but he only checked the site a few times during the day. He got the call in the late afternoon while driving. Dean Hoffman said to him “Are you driving? You’d better pull over”, and I’m glad he did. After that he didn’t speak a word about it for a full hour and a half until after dinner when I asked him if he had checked the Michigan site again during the afternoon. He nonchalantly said “Oh yeah, I got in”. Our family broke into the dramatic outburst he was hoping for. Best acting I’ve seen from him in quite a while to keep that joyous news from us for so long. Needless to say we are very excited.

Aaah, that’s a great story PelkyAgain! Congrats to you too!! My son had a fun story as well…he was with a friend working on a project, obsessively checking (so his friend knew what was going on), and then when he had stepped away ans was at the library counter his friend came sprinting across the library and shoved his phone in his face because it was ringing and said “Ann Arbor MI”. He was so shell shocked that Dean Hoffman had to tell him it was real. He called me and asked if I had checked his status lately, and did his “glum voice” before breaking the news. I love that they have a fun story to tell about the night! It just adds to the fun and excitement!

Congrats to your sons and daughters! I wish other schools would let you know sooner than the end of March. My D did not audition for UMich though.

If anyone hears from Michigan about BFA Acting for class of 2017 today (or later) please post. We’re still waiting to hear and don’t know if we should assume the worst since there was no phone call or email or anything on wolverine access yesterday (2/27). Thanks and congrats to all. It is a great program.

I have not heard/seen of any decisions either way yesterday, or all week, for Acting so perhaps yesterday was only MT day!

HHKMom, hi! Don’t worry. I auditioned for the BFA Acting program and my I know that a few classmates of my friends auditioned, as well. So they would have told me if EVERYONE received notices. I’d say that they’re still going to be sending them out :).

Hi all I am new to CC. My D is in the middle of the audition process with only two MT auditions left… thank god! I have really been wanting some advice before I jump on my own and act on impulse so I thought I would start here. My D auditioned at Marymount Manhattan early February and they said they would be sending out acceptance/rejection letters in the first week of March (most likely March1). She has an audition at Wagner college this Sunday but truth be told if she got into MMC she would choose it over Wagner and if we could find out it would save us the stress, and money. I was thinking about just calling and explaining this and asking… would I be jeopardizing anything for my D? Would any of you do this? Will they tell me if she is accepted?

WaitingMTmum… You posted this in a thread specific to University of Michigan MT. You may want to re-post it on the main Musical Theater forum or the Marymount MT forum. In general I doubt that you would jeopardize anything by calling a school to ask when to expect acceptances, you probably don’t even need to give your name.

WaitingMTMum, I answered your question on the other thread where you posted.

While you can call and ask anonymously when the decisions will be released, I would not call to ask for your D’s admissions decision, which they will not give you by phone, even if available, but would not make an exception because you would prefer to not have to attend more auditions.

Anyway, see my other post.

For anyone receiving acceptances to Michigan BFA Acting, can you share your audition date?

Any news for BFA Acting?

AtlasHands13 – if you haven’t seen it yet there is a separate discussion about the University of Michigan’s acting program and acceptances (which apparently are still coming). Try searching “Umichigan bfa acting.” Good luck.

I was accepted to BFA Acting last week by phone.
