cals aem or ilr?

Sorry if this isnt the right place to post this question.
I'll keep it short:
Basically my ultimate objective in life is to travel around the world, pick a developing country and settle there, providing the expertise and knowledge I gain in college to help their economy grow.
Cornell has been my dream school since forever, and I'm really torn between ilr and cals, and wondering which would provide a more wholesome experience that will enable me to participate significantly in a developing economy. A lot of my classmates are applying to cas, and I'd very much rather not mingle with them after HS graduation.
Also, a more general question, what curriculum path would you suggest? What specific majors? Something like cals' AEM, or a something more broader. And what would you recommend as postgraduate education, if any.
I've also looked into SUNY Stonybrook, and really like it there, as some of my closest friends will be attending. I know also that SBU is very well-rounded, so I can pretty much major in anything if I end up there.
Sorry if the queations are a bit general.
Any comments would help me out alot :)
