CalSO and Bearfacts Question

I am entering UC Berkeley as a Freshman this coming Spring semester. I just completed the online advising, and I have a Phase II appointment date. It states that I will have my appointment for Phase I given to me when I attend CalSO, but I'm not able to attend it on October 30th. The alternative is that they will mail it to me

My question is: will I be at a disadvantage for selecting classes during Phase I if my appointment is mailed to me rather than receiving it at CalSO itself and if so, how much of a disadvantage is it?

You might feel like you have a disadvantage because you are selecting classes after those attending CalSO. But it’s really not that big of a deal. As an incoming freshman, you should be able to get into your introductory courses that have a large class size.

This will only be your first semester, so don’t stress too much over it.
