well i just got rejected from mit and caltech, ne others in the same position? tell me your stories and where u hope to go now. im putting all my hope into getting to berkeley now, cant wait until march 30th.

Rejected from MIT. It wasn't a terrible disappointment, however, because they weren't one of my tops. I'm still awaiting the big private school release on the 30th.

Post stats, too, it'll be helpful.

I got rejected from MIT. I'm not devestated at all, because the applicant pool is self-selected and I'm happy that I was good enough to apply for it. My second choice is JHU, Penn, or Duke.

Life goes on people! Good luck to all of you!

Ba bye MIT! Haha, I never got any interview in the first place so my chances were slim to none to begin with. Thankfully MIT wasn't my first choice.

Got rejected :P Wasnt surprising though, considering that I slipped up everywhere in my application ;)

I got rejected at Caltech yesterday.

That stung pretty bad. Until I got accepted at MIT this morning!

i got rejected by MIT today. what a nice thing to come home to!
effing sexist interviewer!!!! i bet he screwed me over big time. he did not have one nice thing to say about me or my future.

eh, its ok for all of us MIT rejects, considering we look at other schools like Harvard, Brown, or CMU as our other top schools...
anyhow, MIT can be quite difficult on a person, so consider your life maybe a year or two longer now...yippee

Rejected from Caltech. Never applied to MIT. I'm not that worried. Always look at the rosy side of your situation. The grass may be greener on the other side, but grass usually spreads and the greenery may eventually spread to your side if you keep up!

I got rejected by MIT and it was my first choice =(
i never applied to cal tech becuase the work load looked intimidating

i got accepted to all the UCs (Berkeley(RC candidate), LA, San Diego)

i'm sorta bummed right now, i was hoping to be accepted by either stanford or MIT (my top two choices) but i was rejected by both. it's pointless to place my hopes in Harvard, and Princeton... i think i have a decent chance at harvey mudd and cornell though...

the bottomline is that i placed too much thought and hope into these reach schools that i should never have bothered applying to. i should've just applied to the UCs and have been content with Berkeley (its math department is ranked #1 in the nation (tied with Princeton), did you know that?)

Rejected from MIT!

I really don't care too much since I got a likely letter from Dartmouth, which is looking very positive to me now.

Could you have applied early action to those schools and be wait-listed or since you were already deferred, would you have to recieve either an acceptance or rejection?

I got defered then today i got rejected. I sent them 6 rec letters, 2 projects and 2 essays and i still got rejected. Oh well I guess I will just have to go to UCSD and do biomedical engineering/premed.

Rejected from MIT but don't really care.

can waitlistees post here too, since we're de facto rejectees? I was bummed since I had thought my chances were greatest at MIT and that I had a decent shot, but I'm banking all my hope for March 30th.

major suckage,
I got rejected today also, just MIT though, Cali is too far away. I was really banking on that, now I dont know what to do because every other college i applied to is just, well, plain. the thread a few below this one erked me (you cant say p-d off apparently) because i scored 400 higher on the SAT than that kid who got in and were the same rank. No disrespect, good for that kid and i hope he or she does well in all his or her ventures, but this sucks. I would give my stats, but that would make me question the decision and conclude depressingly. I guess I'm just gonna have to make lemonade.

Okay, so I was accepted EA by Harvard, but rejected by MIT (and on top of that, I'm female, which should have increased my chances!) -__-;;?

Got rejected by Caltech, but I wasn't Caltech material anyway. Had a 2080 on new SAT, 2340 if I use the old. No national competitions, only regional. No research or internships. Hopefully I can get into HMC.

He turned 18 yesterday. It was kind of a bummer birthday for him. Leslie
