*Caltech c/o 2018 Applicants*

You can let the computer check it every minute automatically. But it’s still agonizing to see the computer all day!!!

I think they usually make us wait until 6pm :(

6 PM ET you mean? or 9 PM ET?

I guess it would be ET? I’m only saying this because I have a friend here in Florida who got his acceptance last year at 6.

I have a friend who got his acceptance 3 PM ET last year.

Looking at the EA results thread from last year, it seems like the decisions came out at 3:00 PM ET. The thread was started a little after 3, and the first results post was at 3:44.

So 3 PM ET. Less than 15 hours from now.

I believe it will be 12:07 PM Western Time  Which makes 3:07 PM ET  So friggin excited…

Hoooooly **** just a few more hours…

One more hour! Hang in there!

“Defer update”

… No… Do you… ? What defer update?

The time is here… start refreshing your emails.

They’re up, and I’m in.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!

HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLY CRAP!

I’m accepted.

Refresh your applicant portal; it should be there!!!

post results here :)

Deferred… :/

I’m glad I have another chance, but with a 5% acceptance rate for deferred applicants I have a feeling this might just be a soft rejection.

S14 is accepted. I am actually crying!!!

well I’m in!

time to study for finals now ^_^

I’m actually surprised I got deferred rather than rejected straight up, mostly because I didn’t think my SAT2s were good enough until my November date (which they did not see). I also put in very minimal effort into the essays and had little to no math/science related activities in high school! Because I feel like I have a better chance at MIT this really boosted my spirits!! Feeling happy!

Are Caltech’s RD decisions typically released before MIT’s, or was last year’s release date just an isolated event?
