In the "Math and Science Activities" section of Caltech supplement to Common App, the instruction says "If you need additional space, please explain in the additional information section. Please do not refer us to an attached resume.". But, as I understand, most students indeed upload a resume for the "additional information section". So, what exactly one should do to list information about additional awards etc.?

Thanks.

List the most prestigious awards or the ones that mean the most to you, and then lump the remainder “other state level awards” or some such.

What keywords would your friends use to describe you?

is it sufficient to just list few words or should expand each? they give 250 characters!

There is no right or wrong answer here. They want to see what your personality is like… To that end, more explanation is better than a few terse words. The better you can present your own idiosyncracies and they can see you as a real person, the better!
