If anyone was accepted to Caltech as a transfer student, I was wondering how well they did on the transfer exam and if they know what the average score is.

I didn't do so well. I mean, I did some stupid mistakes I could have easily avoided, but apart from that I didn't find it difficult & did almost all of it. It's definitely not hardcore if you're quantitative.

I don't think they bother computing the averages, but maybe the profs looking at it make some comments.

Have fun.

I've found the math part of the exam to be pretty trivial but the physics part was much more challenging. As stated above, I dont believe that the averages are computed. After researching about the exam last year, I believe that there isn't a nice uniform Gaussian distribution for the grades (either very high or very low); at least from what I've read. Furthermore, I believe that doing reasonably on the exams (~70%) is a very important factor of the admission comm decision. Note: I don't represent the admissions office, so I MIGHT be wrong about some/all of the above; these are just my impressions on process.

Best of luck to you.
