Caltech transfer exam

Hello Caltech Transfer Hopefuls(if there are any).

I'll be taking the Caltech Transfer Exams in Math (03/21/09) and Physics(03/24/09).

Wish me luck.

Good luck!

Good luck.

feliz navidad

Either MIT/Caltech transfers are not CCers or there are slightly fewer applicants this year(I hope it's the latter).

Good luck!

Do you also apply for MIT, BTW?

good luck...
I gonna take those too... both in March 24...

I just took the Math part today and will be taking the Physics on Tuesday. The Math was not as I expected it to be.

No, I applied to four UCs(LA, Cal, Davis & SD) & Caltech.

How so? Was it harder than expected? Or were you well prepared?

The questions weren't as challenging as I had imagined, but were mainly computational except for some which required a good understanding of the material. I would advise any prospective applicant not to rely on my assessment of the exam since it is purely subjective, but to try and read over the suggested topics by CALTECH at Caltech Undergraduate Admissions: Transfer Applicants.

good luck.

good luck! then you get to be in one of the best colleges in the world and the best city ever, Pasadena! :)

i am also considering CAl Tech for transfer in fall 2010, for that , when should i take the transfer exams provided by the university(Cal Tech).?

Caltech will send you additional information about the exams after you submit your application.

do you get to know your performance in the test?

bump!!
so did u get accepted?

I think I answered most, if not all, the Math problems correctly. The Physics was, as expected, more challenging. I managed to somewhat answer all the questions, albeit some minor mistakes. The time allotted for the Mathematics was overly sufficient, as I was done 90 minutes before the end. I definitely could have used more time for the Physics section.
MATH[4 Hrs], PHYSICS[3 Hrs]

Note: It is my belief that if you are well versed in the materials you are tested on, you should be done in half of the allocated time.

Admission Decisions, together with your exam scores, are normally sent out in early May.
