Caltech's strange admissions letter....

congrats to all those who were accepted. I got in too, but I am anxious about a this -->

"Please note, however, that your admission is contingent on the continuation of your strong academic and personal record. "

this is the first admissions letter ive read with something to that effect (though i've not read many), so my question is....is caltech quick to rescind? Say hypothetically, my grades have not been good this semester, and I got suspended for drinking. other schools that i've applied to won't care i think, but ive not heard about caltech. is a handful of Bs, maybe 2 C's, and a suspension rescind worthy? How about decent grades (As mostly), and drinking, or no suspension but bad grades. Remember that this is all hypothetical....

They said this to me too, and I have a 4.0.

It’s a form letter.

Jst don’t mess up on math and science (<A), otherwise ur fine

That is standard language on acceptance letters. Just don’t tank your last semester and you will be fine.

Straight B’s and maybe a C in a humanities class = ok
Any D’s or more than a couple of C’s = bad
Serious disciplinary problems (eg suspension or explusion) = bad

Most definitely nothing to worry about.

As others have said - everyone gets the same acceptance letter.

I graduated High School in June 2009, and I still got that letter.

Admissions letter from MIT and almost every college has similar sentence.
