I will be enrolling at UCLA for in the fall 2014-2015
I intend to use the CalVet, but the school also offered me the "Scholarship Recognition Award"
I know my CalVet will cover my tuition, but will the amount of money from my scholarship (and any future scholarships for that matter) be lowered/taken away? I was going to use my scholarships for housing, books, and other educational fees.
Thanks!

Sorry I don’t know about your scholarship but depending on the CalVet program you are using you may have a income limit. You should also find out if a scholarship would be considered income.

Ask the school what they allow. I don’t know how UC works it. Usually at college, for Need based aid, you have to pay your EFC, but additional scholarships may be used to cover loans and work study awarded. If you are ‘gapped’ and there is unmet Need after CalVet covers tuition, the Award should be allowed for books and allowed expenses up to your COA - EFC. Now Merit aid can cover EFC. That’s my best guess, time to talk to the college, you have to share everything anyway.
