Camino del Sol help

I'm having trouble getting out of my camino lease and I need to find someone to take over my lease from Sept 2011-Sept 2012. Does anyone want to or know people that want live in camino next year? you get your own bedroom and own bathroom! please help me out!

ouch, there was another person in the same predicament but for Norte.
I don’t know anyone who needs housing but here’s some tips for you:
It must be a person of the same gender of you, so specify the gender you’re looking for.
List the lease price, and perhaps a link to the Camino page that shows the floor plan.
Put a listing on Facebook Marketplace.
Consider posting fliers around campus with all the details.
Also, I feel like most people won’t worry about housing until a little later into spring quarter so it might be a slow response from people.
If you start getting desperate later on in the school year, consider offering them something like you’ll pay for their parking or something… If you can afford to do that.

Otherwise, if the costs of moving out of Camino is much greater than the amount you’d save living elsewhere, then just stick with Camino :/.

thanks for the advice. I started early because I’m really worried I wont be able to find someone to take over my lease but i guess it makes sense to wait until later on in the school year.

I actually need to get out of camino due financial reasons and i have found a place that is much cheaper which will help my parents out (cause they’re paying). I just hope I can find a replacement!

I’m in a similar predicament, but I’m looking for someone to live in Norte for summer since I will be studying abroad. I havent made any online posts or fliers yet since I haven’t received my apartment assignment from Norte. They are so slow!

Hmm, it’s good that you’re starting early though, it’s better to start now and post those things and if they fail at first, repost them again as time passes.

I’m not sure if this is applicable, but I think there’s free legal help at UCI (try googling it?), so I wonder if you can bring in your lease contract and have them look at it to see if Camino can make you stay there or if there’s loopholes to getting out of your lease? Idk. I forget what Camino tells you - is it you must find someone else and you’re charged $400 to cancel your lease, or can you just cancel and just get fined some amount?

@Chikara, subletting isn’t so difficult, sometimes people have to offer a lower amount than their rent, but sometimes they don’t! good luck
