I got 107% in both semesters in AP biology. Turns out it was the highest grade ever in his whole teaching career (about 20 years). The extra 7% came from the extra credit questions he put at the end of his labs from time to time.

Just read the book. I actually think Campbell explains it really well. For example, if you just write "the cell divided" instead of "The organism's most basic and instrinsic entity undergoes a complex process that result in two identical daughter cells," then you will miss information about its equivalence to "identical daughter cells" and the extent of cell division's beauty.

If your book came with a CD, you can register for the web site...it has chapter summaries, tons of review questions (not just the ones in the book), the entire text of the book online, and all of the art/diagrams from every chapter.

If your book didn't come with a CD...message me. I can let you use my name and password (I already let half of my AP Bio class use it, it's not a big deal).

Hahah...our class isn't that hard...we have a chapter(s) quiz every friday, but we're allowed to use any notes/diagrams we want, so I print out all of the pictures, and then notes from either the Hudson Catholic AP Biology Page or Mr. Knight's AP Biology Page. I haven't actually read a chapter in a long time. However, when we have unit tests, we're not allowed to use any materials. Of course, our unit tests just consist of quiz questions that we've already seen before, so...^_^

And yeah, Cliff's AP Biology book is supposed to be really awesome.

I haven't had any problems understanding Campbell. If I get tired while reading or don't have enough time, I use Cliffs AP Bio. I hear the CDROM and the study guide that it comes with help. If you don't have them, ask your teacher if he/she does. The more you expose yourself to the material, the better it sticks.

I have a test tomorrow on Chapters 36, 37, 38, 39. Guess how many of these chapters I read in the book. Let me give you a hint, it starts with zero.

Pfft, I guess I'll just read the study guide companion book.
