Hey guys, I was just wondering if there's any differences between the 7th and 8th edition of Campbell's and Reece's Biology textbook.
I need it for AP Bio.
7th Editions is about half of the price of the 8th edition.
For those who used the 7th edition, did you notice any major differences?
Thanks.
Note: I know there were threads like this before but those were about 6th and 8th editions.

Go with the seventh edition, especially if you’re buying it and it’s half the price.
I’m going to guess there’s not a HUGE improvement, but a quick note… Campbell died while publishing the seventh edition. Also, I used the 5th edition and it was good enough to get me a 5.

Has anyone successfully used the 7th edition in an AP class that asks for 8th edition?

You should be fine with either edition. Just make sure that which ever chapters that you have a test on (if your teacher uses tests off of the book) correlate between the editions. You will be fine for the AP test with either.

1st Year College Biology probably hasn’t changed very much in 1-2 years

If the class is using the 8th, get the 8th. Several chapters are organized differently. End of chapter work is different. There is new information in biology every week. If you are buying the book, this will serve you for a longer time as a reference.

You should probably email your teacher about whether or not you can use a different edition.
