I get how the meal plans work but I am not sure how the campus access card works with copies, laundry and other things. If I make copies at the library does it pull money from my dining plan or do I need to deposit cash onto the card to use for these purchases? I know this is totally a freshman question but I cant figure it out

It is a bit confusing. There is the campus access card which is your official photo id card. It is used for library check-outs, bus pass, copies, (do they still give you 700 free copies at some printers?–I don’t know), access to the SRSC, etc. There are two financial accounts which maybe accessed with your card. The first is I-bucks. I-Bucks are the meal plan "dollars. RPS (dining/dorm services) assigns a dollar amount to each meal plan. 1/2 the dollar amount is loaded into your I-bucks account each semester. I-Bucks are only used for RPS food purchases and the RPS C-stores. When you slide your card at an RPS location, the system knows it’s an RPS purchase to be deducted from your I-Bucks.

The second account is a campus access financial account. You do not have to add money to your campus access account. It is convenient though for laundry. It can also be used in the library, some of the Union restaurants, copies, and several off-campus places.

I hope that’s helpful.
