I always thought if you stepped on the M you failed your first midterm but I still haven’t stepped on it and I don’t intend to. It would be like stepping on the flag.

With respect to the arch I will vote with what the Daily story says.

Sorry Laurendog but we should try to get it right. I don’t think dad was trying to be offensive.

Back in my day which was contemporaneous with UMDAD it was the Engine Arch, but Engineering has subsequently moved to North Campus, so I don’t know what people call it today.

codydog, there are also some decent Middle Eastern and Indian restaurants in A2 where you can get a good vegetarian meal.

If you like sports, check the calendar on [MGOBLUE.COM - University of Michigan Official Athletic Site](http://www.mgoblue.com) and you may find an event that would be interesting to you. Hockey and basketball can be tough tickets, but there are a plethora of other sports such as gymnastics, swimming and diving, volleyball, wrestling, etc. that are a lot of fun to see and inexpensive.

I just bought tickets to the women’s basketball game v Nebraska next Thurs night. I thought it would be fun for D to get a sense Michigan sports and inspiring for her to see a women’s team (which we have never done). Is there generally a good turnout for women’s basketball?

Turnout for women’s basketball sucks which is a shame because the team this year has been competitive and recently knocked off #14 Purdue on the road. The plus side is you can get a really good seat, there is a band and you have a good chance of seeing a good game. Women’s basketball at U-M has been really bad for a really long time but we have a new coach who really likes being here and she seems to be doing a good job.

Campus Day is more of a sales pitch to get you excited to go to U-M. The information is more in depth than the info session with the tour, it is a little more entertaining and the tour is a bit longer. If you know you are going to go to U-M, you will be given all of the same information at orientation so it isn’t necessary to go to campus Day.

Probably very similar. In fact, I’ve been seeing groups heading toward S Quad at the exact same time as in the fall. As far as Zingerman’s, it is kinda overpriced but also unique, so it’s worth trying once. Fair warning, don’t text-walk and cut in front of bikers. There’s not many this time of year, but I will run you over if you do this.

Daughter and I attended Campus Day on Feb 8. Kind of a letdown. Not nearly as good as I hoped it would be. Rode campus shuttle from airport. Stayed in hotel by mall and rode city bus in for $1.50. Drops right in front of Union. Extremely cold with lots of “pelting ice”. People in Florida thought I got sunburned. It was ice-burn. Stayed an extra day and the weather was much nicer and allowed us to explore on our own terms. Caught a great free concert in Hill Aud. We’re from Florida so I wanted to see if daughter would be dissuaded by the arctic. No chance. She/we loved it and she’s figuring out who the rivals are, pretty sure it’s OH St, before she enrolls in the Fall. Try Palios on Main St. The NY Times did a good article on food/things to do.
