Campus Environment

Obviously, unlike Penn and Harvard, Brown is not located within proximity of a major city. That being said, how is the campus at Brown?

Brown is one of my top 2 schools, but I’ve never got a chance to visit yet (going later this spring!). Can anyone offer their opinion?

I’ve grown up in a “rural”/suburban area my whole life. Will Brown’s campus provide deju vu all over again?

brown is in the city of providence

What about weather?

Same as Boston.

Umm, Brown IS in a major city---Providence. The campus is beautiful, and the city of Providence may be small, but it has many things to offer. There is a huge mall walking distance from the campus. In the spring or summer time, the weather is beautiful. People mostly walk around (especially when its warm) and Brown's campus might be old, but it has a certain beauty to it that attracts most people.

I visited the campus a few months ago, and I live about 30 mins away. I loved the atmosphere and the city.

As Providence is the capital of a state, albeit a small one, there ought to be a good deal of stuff to do. As I experienced this summer, Providence seems like a great place, and because of it's east coast location, close in proximity to several major cities.

It also costs $6 to get to Boston in 45mins.

To Boston from Providence???

Between Boston and Providence there is a $6 commuter rail weekdays. The bus is about the same cost.

Did you do, like, any research about Brown before posting here?

And a quick comment, looking at your posts in other places: I'm gonna try to preemptively keep you from asking about chances for PLME. PLME is an incredibly selective program, with admissions that looks at a lot more than can be conveyed in a forum. No one here can tell you anything about admissions to PLME, I promise you.
