Hello everybody! I am looking into transferring to UCF as a Public Relations major. I don't think I will be able to visit the campus before I apply so I figured I'd just ask all my questions here. How is the campus life? What is there to do on AND off campus? Is it relatively easy to find a job? Also, any info on the Public Relations major is greatly appreciated.(: Thankss

Depends. I live around campus and grew up around orlando ucf area. There isnt that many jobs unless you want to work at a local club or bar college bar. It gets booooring after awhile same old bars to hang out at. And most are filled with local underage high school students anyway. I live around ucf and I hate it around here

There’s some bars down on University Blvd that are “OK”, but as mikebuk123 mentioned, there’s a lot of underage high-school students that go there. The majority of the jobs I would have to say are going towards Downtown or even International Drive. We do have a mall on Alafaya Trail (Waterford Lakes) that’s really good. They might be hiring for Seasonal help soon since the Holiday Season is quickly approaching. I’ve been looking for a job since January and it’s not that easy since a lot of them take transfers that are going to UCF and they tend to fill up extremely quick. I live near Campus as well. I find that there’s a lot to do on Campus depending on your interests. There’s something called Late Knights and they have like 3,000 Students that go to these events. It’s quite fun and went there a lot last year. I think being a Public Relations Major is very good. I would recommend taking up a Minor in Marketing. Feel free to ask any questions and we’ll be happy to help you in any way we can.
