I've been interested in Mount Holyoke for a while, but I was wondering what the campus climate is like. What is the social life all about? Are students warm? Challenging without cut-throat? Any insight would be appreciated! Thanks!</p>
<p>I am an MHC alumna who has visited campus recently. The academic climate is challenging but not at all cutthroat. Students are very friendly and the all-female environment also removes any sense of competitiveness about men. When we visited (with my D) we hung out at the student center for a while and saw lots of informal groups chatting and greeting each other. We were spontaneously invited to a student-organized poetry reading where we were warmly welcomed. Present students could tell you more about current social life.</p>
