Do UCLA and UC Irvine let people look around their campuses without a scheduled tour? Because I am planning on visiting both this Sunday, April 24, 2011-which happens to be Easter. BTW, will the campuses even be opened on Sunday? and what about restaurants?

Most colleges allow people to go on campus to do whatever, so I’m sure that you’ll be able to visit those schools without a scheduled visit (as in walk around and look at the campus). However, if you plan to talk to an admissions counselor or go inside the buildings (like dorms, library, lecture halls, etc), you should schedule a visit with the school. Plus, if you schedule a visit with the school, it will go on the record that you have shown interest in the school. I’m not sure if that’ll help for the UC’s, but it can never hurt.

I doubt the admissions office or other administrative buildings will be open on Easter, but it’s always best to check on the website. As for restaurants, I have no idea.
