Do UCLA and UC Irvine let people look around their campuses without a scheduled tour? Because I am planning on visiting both this Sunday, April 24, 2011-which happens to be Easter. BTW, will the campuses even be opened on Sunday? and what about restaurants?

I don’t know about the specific schools, but I’m pretty sure at most colleges you can just walk around. They’re not closed just to students. No one will even know or care that you don’t go there. The tours are just to provide extra information, usually.

On Sunday it would depend on the school but you can still probably walk around campus, you just might not be able to go in the class buildings. I’m sure a few restaurants will be open, but it will probably be how anywhere would be on Easter, some places closed, but a good portion open.

Just go and walk around. Campuses aren’t prisons, people can just walk on and off of them.

I have gone and walked around the local college a few times…no one has really said anything so I don’t see why it would be different anywhere else.
