campus visits?

Hi

I'm an international admit and wish to visit Berkeley's campus in the coming weeks. How should I arrange for this? What sort of things should I look for while visiting the campus?

Thanks

visit on weekday. cheaper flights. get to see students and lively campus.

Yeah, weekday would be better than weekend.

maybe attend some classes and talk with random students. or call me up. . . lol jk :P

well, how would I arrange for me to attend classes? I noticed that this wasn’t one of the tour options on Berkeley website. Do I have to call them? and I noticed there are a great deal of tours. Which ones should I sign up for?

just go to whatever big lecture hall :> I did that before

lol… there are no organized tours for class visits?

^ Not unless you do like the OHP, or something where it specifically states that they do class visits.

I went in Feb. to a Classics class (400+ people) and a Philosophy class (>50 people). I never had a problem with people confronting me, and I was actually interested in the lectures. It was really cool.

On Cal day there are usually a few special lectures open, not a live class but the same kind of content. The Astronomy session is usually standing room only plus people stuck in the halls after 800 or 1000 get in to listen. Get there early - lets you know how great it is to be around top notch professors.

ok… but how would I find out where a class is? For instance, if I wanted to visit a econ class or philosophy class, where can I find the course schedule that tells me where to go (rm number, time, etc)…

http://schedule.berkeley.edu lists the classes. Select spring 2009 term, thenlook for likely classes. If they meet on the day you are visiting, you can see what room they will use.

you could easily attend a class by selecting a person and stalking them.
if you want specific classes, then go to the above post.
