So I'm a second year and I see some really interesting fiat luxes which say under enrollment restrictions "incoming freshmen only".

Is this a strict non bendable rule .. or is it something like "we give priority to the frshmen at orientation but if theres still room you can take it" ... ?

Anyone ever taken a fiat lux as a sophmore? Should I start emailing professors?

i took a bunch as a sophomore fall quarter. you just have to see whats open after the freshies. though i enrolled in my fiat luxes sometime in early august, so i dont think its after ALL of the orientations. try sometime in the next couple weeks.

College Honors students may receive up to 2 units of honors credit for Fiat Lux seminars with a P grade. Honors credit may be given to seminars taken with the old “Honors 98” title or the new titles. However, any seminars taken in excess of 2 units will not apply towards your College Honors progress.

How to receive honors credit for Fiat Lux Seminars (new procedure):
College Honors students who have not met the 2 unit maximum and who wish to apply their Fiat Lux seminars for honors credit must email the Honors office with your request. For confidentiality reasons, only requests from email addresses registered on URSA online will be processed. If you are unsure if you have an authorized email address log-on to URSA online and check your “Address Information”.

Please title your email “Fiat Lux Request” and include the following information:

Your name
Your UID number
Course title (Example: Sociology 19)
Your grade (you must have received a P grade in order to receive honors credit)
Quarter in which the seminar was taken
It will take approximately 2 weeks to process your request and for your honors credit to update on your MyUCLA Honors Progress page.

Please note that credit for Fiat Lux Seminars will be applied as elective honors units, not Honors Collegium units.
