<p>However, the answer is yes for most majors in L&S. </p>

<p>For example, a biology major will satisfy the biological sciences breadth simultaneously with the first of the bio 1A / bio 1B pre-requisites they take. Similarly, chem 1A is what generally fulfills the physical sciences breadth requirement for them, as they take it for their future major.</p>

<p>If you are planning to double major between Haas and something else, I believe the courses for the something-else can be used for breadth, while the courses for Haas cannot.</p>

<p>Haha I’m taking Chinese 7A this fall to fulfill A&L. They removed the Literature and Writing requirement for Haas. Here’s the changes they made:</p>
