Of course this doesn't say anything about the whole nation, like not knowing some geography stuff is excusable, but not knowing how many sides a triangle has?!

venkater, you might be right, but these people, who at least have a HS diploma, don't know some very basic stuff... You can't compare them to village people in some third world country, where they might not even have access to information.

Oh, how I LOVE film editing. Did anyone notice how they didn't show ANYONE getting a right answer? That's how I can tell this is fake. Also, it says "CNNN" at the bottom. Is that even a real network?

that is true, but it still makes me shake my head at the fact that people though North Korea was at Australia...

Depends. I am not one to swear an allegiance to a country. I believe we all play a bigger part as citizens of the world and imaginary borders merely detract from our obligations to each other, but I guess I am proud that where I come, a country that is involved globally like America, has a populace educated in pertinent matters. So, yes. I would say I am.

i guarantee you can go to any country and make a similar tape.

If the US is so "stupid" yet is by far the greatest - and only - super power in the world today - that sure speaks a lot about the "intelligence" of other countries.

side note - who cares who the prime minister of australia is.

I think the mighty power of Rome exemplified that the general populace doesn't necessarily have to be "bright" for a country to be a superpower.

It really doesn't either because most of what has made America a "superpower" has come from other countries.

JAY Leno has this type of segment on all the time. It doesn't really matter. because as people said in another post, these days its not the brawn its about the smarts. This just shows that this is totally wrong. It doesn't matter how smart you are, you can be dumb, but hell if you have the brawn then you cant be beat. this speaks so true about America.
