Can Americans be this stupid? =0

:)

Bianca Casa

wait... i thought that was some sort of noodle...

Tu sei pazzo.

<a href="http://www.cnnnn.com/%5B/url%5D">http://www.cnnnn.com/</a></p>

is that a good or a bad thing?

Depends upon your perspective.

Did someone say they were proud to be English because his country's populace "is well educated on global affairs?"

Wow, that couldn't be further from the truth; England's education system is about as "in the hole" as the US's.

You know, I bet that if you went to any country in the world, interviewed tons of people, and then only showcased the worst answers, you could make any country look equally populated by idiots.

Biased samples are bad statistics, kids.

There are 300 million people in this country. 150 million have below a 100 IQ. 75 million have below 85.

umm....I've seen dumber than that. That was nothing.

I'll let you guys in on a huge secret.

I met stupid people in Japan.

Yes, Japan. The country that supposedly is kicking everyone's butts in education. I've met people in Japan who couldn't figure out to give 500 yen back when I gave 1100 yen for a 600 yen charge.

I've met people in Japan who didn't know who the PM was at the time (it was Koizumi.)

I've met people in Japan who thought that England was part of the US.

I don't see any videos about them attempting to demonstrate that the country is run or populated by functioning idiots.

hahahahahahahaha
and uclari, its true, japan's new generation is rotten. it would be so much more different if you asked them about nintendo or playstation, haha

"Wow, that couldn't be further from the truth; England's education system is about as "in the hole" as the US's"

I'm assuming that you are pulling this assumption from your arse. I have been exposed to both educational systems and the English is by far the best.

Yes, UCAlri there are stupid people in every country, but not to the extent and size of the american population. Even the leader of this nation has an IQ of 90 (though I believe IQ tests are merely elitist tools, but I digress because Bush is inherently an idiot).

first off - Bush's IQ isn't 90 - that was just made up by some website.

the only way to truly extrapolate his IQ is by his SAT score. Since he took the old old SAT, his score of 1206 would be equivalent to about a 129 IQ - which puts him in the "very superior intelligence" category.

Second of all, the "normal curve" of the IQ test can't just transfer over to the US population - as children have lower IQs than adults. As they get older their IQ raises. Also, the average SAT score is 1000, and 1000 equates to a 110 IQ which is above average. I realize not everyone takes the SAT but that is a better indicator of the intelligence of people, IMO.

3rd of all, there are the same amount of stupid people in every country. I find the most ignorant people in the world are the dumbass europeans who go off brandishing "Americans are stupid wahhhhhhhhh." Yes because there are absolutely no stupid people in Europe. I guess if "150 million americans have less than a 100 IQ" that means that 364 million Europeans have an IQ of less than 100.

lol are you sounding stupid on purpose?

Do you have any proof of this, other than anecdotal?

Ohhh no somebody with a video camera asked a couple random people some questions and decided to show those that gave the stupidest answers...yea.

But then again, if you asked the same questions in Europe to a couple random people, I'm quite positive they will not only immediately know the answer, but also that they will proceed to give a 30minute spiel about the topic....right?

was this video some kind of daily show like thing, or was it a real news report?

If you are looking to start a witch hunt for an anti-American then you have the wrong person. I’m not anti-American; I am not anti-any country for that matter. I am, however, anti-Ignorant and anti-arrogant, which coincidentally quite a few Americans are. I do not believe all Americans are dumb, oh contraire I have many intelligent American friends, and I do not believe all Europeans are intelligent; I have quite a few “challenged” European friends. Why I call Americans dumb-this is probably leading to the misunderstanding as I do not mean intellectually inferior simply uninformed- however, is because they often know little of the world beyond them. If it doesn’t pertain to them, they probably know little about it. If Americans want to interfere with worldly affairs then they should learn a little about the world before they do so.

To that Accord:
<a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/17/opinion/17stein.html?ex=1318737600&en=c5709ea7c5631b3f&ei=5088&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss%5B/url%5D">http://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/17/opinion/17stein.html?ex=1318737600&en=c5709ea7c5631b3f&ei=5088&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss</a></p>

Here is also an interesting article from an American perspective:
<a href="http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?articleID=4824%5B/url%5D">http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?articleID=4824</a></p>

"the only way to truly extrapolate his IQ is by his SAT score. Since he took the old old SAT, his score of 1206 would be equivalent to about a 129 IQ - which puts him in the "very superior intelligence" category."

If you are adamant with correlating SAT scores with IQ than Bush's would actually be 115. As reported by most studies “70% of IQ scores fall between 85 and 115”. If you want to defend Bush’s intelligence and discernment though, you are merely evincing my point.

"Do you have any proof of this, other than anecdotal?"

How could I? My opinions are based solely on my experience, as yours were concerning Japanese people. My American friends in Europe were often quite intelligent and definitely worldly; I enjoyed conversing with them. Living in the states though has been a different experience. Half of my sister’s class didn’t know where Italy was and a few even thought it was a state. Practically, no one had heard of the U.K. even though every student had heard of London. People routinely ask me if we having electricity and running water in England…and they are not jesting. Maybe I should reserve my judgment, especially because of where I’m located, but when you meet a majority of Americans who know little of “the outside world” it’s difficult to not believe a large percent of the population is “dumb”.

"3rd of all, there are the same amount of stupid people in every country. I find the most ignorant people in the world are the dumbass europeans who go off brandishing "Americans are stupid wahhhhhhhhh." Yes because there are absolutely no stupid people in Europe.
This is the cavalier “holier than thou” American attitude I detest. Evidently, you believe all Americans are superior, intellectually and otherwise, to every other person in the world. If an American is dumb, than a European or a member of any nation other than America has to be even dumber.
