Do any of you guys know the acceptance rate? And is the average GPA really a 3.9+? What else is important to know when applying? What does Professor Rubin look for? Sorry if I sound naive, I’m just interested in going into consulting coming out of college and I am currently a freshman Kelley DA.
From what I have heard, the average GPA is definitely that high but also you cannot just take easy classes as they will be able to see that. Having case experience is definitely a plus so you may want to do case competitions and get involved in organizations like 180 Degrees Consulting. You definitely need to get the consulting mindset and be genuinely interested in the subject matter.
DS is currently a senior at IU in the consulting workshop. It has been an amazing experience for him. GPA needs to be high and you should be active in some Kelley groups. There are several consulting oriented groups but they are competitive to join. The list of students in the workshop are listed online - maybe see if you could meet with one or more of them to pick their brain. The upperclassmen are also involved in the interview process, so getting to know some of them would be a good thing. Good luck to you!
