Can anybody chance me for UC Berkeley Haas?

Hi guys,

I am currently a sophomore at Foothill college. I already applied and am waiting for the update for Haas, but my nerves are just killing me. UC Berkeley Haas has been my dream school forever, and I prefer it far more than Harvard and even Wharton. I have visited all 3, but Haas’s location, size, and faculty just seems like such a perfect fit for me.

Classes I have taken where I have either received an A or A+:

Calc 1, Calc 2, Calc 3*
Stat 10*
Eng 1, Eng 2, Eng 3*
Macroeconomics, Microeconomics
Principles of Business*
Music Theory
Introduction to the Global Economy
Ethics
Cultural Anthropology
Basic Nutrition Sports
Intro to Abnormal Psychology
Environmental Science

Classes I have taken where I will receive at least an A-:

General Physics

*prerequisites

My cumulative GPA including my Fall quarter grades is 3.98. I am completely done with all prerequisites.

EC:

Over 300 hours of community service.

Worked as the marketing lead for a multi-million dollar online ecommerce company until I left due to conflict schedules with my classes.

Creator and and president of an investing club. Not a club based within the college, but a club of people who pooled our money together to invest. We ended up beating the S&P 500 over the course of an year.

Play the cello competitively.

The only part I am really worried about is my essays. I would love it so much if somebody could read them.

Thanks a lot!

I’ll take a look at your essays.

I got the essays of 3 people who got into Haas along with several more by people who were rejected.

You sound like you have a great shot.

You have an excellent academic record. Of course, it’s your extracurriculars and essays that matter as well.

I wouldn’t mind reading it. I’m a current undergrad at Cal (but I’m not in Haas).

You sound like a real competitive candidate! I’d be more than happy to read your essays if you like.

And I know what you mean about Berkeley’s “it” factor that other schools just don’t seem to have

Thanks everybody! I’m a little more relaxed now. Just waiting for Haas to email me tomorrow so I can do the resume and supplemental essay.
