Can anyone help me?

After so much fun talking about Stanford and dreamin, the crash came. 1550 SAT, 690/800/800 SAT II's. Extreme time commitments to EC's, good recs, and legacy, I was waitlisted...

I now will choose between Cornell and Chicago for physics, but I still want Stanford...

So, the question is, how difficult is it to transfer? I was obviously very close this year. Assuming good grades at either Chicago or Cornell, can I get in next year? Are SAT's used? What do I need to do now?

This has been a difficult week. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

u still have a chance
dont give up hope if u really wan it

Thanks. I guess the question is how much of a chance? Better than this year. I couldn't imagine going through it again if it were worse...

In 2004 Stanford admitted 100 transfer students out of 1,345 applicants. On their website they encourage only those with a 3.5-4.0 GPA to apply, so you will need to keep up good grades. Also, they do say you should have SAT scores in the 650-800 range, so they must use SATs in admission as well. Keep up the activities and I would stay you have a good chance.

Don't give up hope on the waitlist either, you sound like a strong applicant. Good luck!

I highly doubt that they will admit off of the wait list. To me, Stanford is gone for now. Any with the 8-10% admit rate for transfer, probably forever. ~Sight~ So be it... I will move on.
