My friend got a 33 act. He has a 3.6 GPA out of 4. His class rank is in the top 40%. Hes a junior in highschool right now and has taken 6 honors/ap classes. Can anyone suggests some good scholarships, especially for out of state students?

He needs to apply to SCHOOLs that will give him big scholarships.

Applying for private scholarships are not likely going to give him the desired results. Private scholarships are often for small amounts, only for one year, and very hard to win.

If this student needs money to go to an OOS school, then looking for private scholarships is not going to get him where he needs to go. He may get a few small ones for freshmen year, but what about his soph, jr, and senior years?

How much $$ does he need?

does he need to ask them for the scholarships or will they notify him when he gets accepted?

Some schools have sep scholarship applications. So, each school is different. Often a student is notified about any awarded scholarships around the time he is admitted.

What is his intended major?

His rank could hurt him at some schools, but there are schools that will award him scholarships simply on his GPA and ACT.
