Can BC Revoke Acceptance?

Hey guys,

I was accepted RD but I recently got a really poor test grade back and now have a D+ in one of my classes. The rest of my classes are fine (As) but I’m really worried about this D. I think I can get it up to at least a C- before the quarter ends (which is next week) but I know that these grades will be sent to BC so is it possible that BC could revoke my acceptance???

Take a deep breath, its all okay.

I can assure you that Boston will NOT revoke your acceptance because of a D. Heck, I got in and I had a low C average in one class. Boston understands that we don’t always do great and that we more than a letter grade. Boston is well within their right to revoke your admissions, but would only do so if you were arrested, expelled, demonstrated poor character (like going on social media and saying all black people are bad…there are actual cases of this happening around the country where people lose their admissions for being hateful or racist or sexist!)

You are not the first or last person to get a D, and you wont be kicked off their admissions list because of it. I had a 62 in a class once, I brought it up to an A but for a good three weeks I was failing! Boston did not email me saying I was out lol so don’t stress. Just don’t fail any classes.

Why should BC not revoke your acceptance?

They admitted you over many others who were highly qualified because they thought you would work hard with the course load next year.

When they get your updated grades, you know what they’ll be thinking.

@jpm50 that’s a bit harsh. OP said they did poorly on ONE test which resulted in a D+ at this point. Does not mean he didn’t work hard as sometimes you fail even when you put in a tremendous effort. He may have to explain the D to BC but I highly doubt they will rescind for one poor grade. Also, there is still plenty of time to bring that grade up before the end of the year.

Honestly doubt it. I had a friend who got accepted into nu.in but he had a 55 average his second quarter of AP bio
