Can CS majors get IT jobs or vice versa?
Going CS to IT will be much easier than IT without CS experience / relevant coursework to CS.
Simply put, with a CS or computer engineering degree, you have an outstanding chance of designing and creating the equipment and software an IT professional will use.
To do that well means you have to understand both types of disciplines - IT and CS.
A CS major can probably handle the technical aspects of an IT job better than most IT majors.
But the business / political aspects of the job may not be as agreeable.
IT majors typically are not prepared for design and development of computers and software that are the types of jobs CS majors go into.
