Can doctors sport facial piercings?

Hey, this may seem like a really random question, but I am of Indian origin and have my nose pierced. I'll probably take it out for my med school interview, but I was wondering if it will hurt my credibility in the hospital, for example, if i was an intern with a nose stud, would it seem unprofessional? it doesn't look punky or anything and i don't want to let my hole close, but do you think i should replace my easy-to-notice stud with one that is smaller? thanks!

I don't think tasteful nose studs are a problem, especially if there is a cultural significance. A giant septum ring or eyebrow piercing might pose a problem, though.

As long as you keep it sanitary and not go overboard I'd say it's fine (but not for interviews of course!)
