My apologies if this is the wrong board for this; I had no idea where to post it :P

I'm a high school sophomore on a veterinary track. I'm taking a few AP classes next year but was wondering if it would be better to take classes at an actual college instead? A lot of vet schools I have considered do not accept AP credit for prerequisite classes so I thought this might be a better alternative! Does anyone know if vet schools such as Tufts, Cornell and Davis accept dual enrollment credits? The college I would be taking the classes at isn't a community college.

Also, if a grad school does accept AP credits is it wise to use them, or should you reject the AP credit and take the classes in undergrad anyways?

I encourage you to check with a few individual vets schools in terms of the AP credits or check with the pre-health advisor at the college you will be attending. Also consider that the way the colleges view the AP’s will change over time so possibly the local college would be a safer bet. I also wonder how a vet school would view a 20 year old vs a 22 year old applicant. (No jumping down my throat allowed here!!) Back when I graduated 25 years ago from vet school, veterinary colleges wanted students to be a “little older” since they felt they dealt with the stress better. That said, it was a long time ago.
