Can Failing Gym for one year affect your admission chance to top 30 schools?

I am currently a senior, and have the potential of failing gym for this semester. Will this heavily affect my transcript? I am really worried about this

Can you still graduate with failing gym?

Yes. Aside from the obvious question about how one can fail gym, colleges expect passing grades from all your classes. Additionally, if it’s a year-long course, you’d need to pass the second semester, as most high schools won’t issue a diploma with a failing grade.

Then don’t get an F (or a D if the class is not P/F).

DD’s high school offers make up gym classes in the summer solely for those who fail it or want a better grade (students unfortunately can’t take it over the summer in lieu of taking it during the school year). So doing poorly in gym must be more common than I - or others - would have thought. Yes, it will affect your transcript, especially if it keeps you from graduating or lowers your GPA… Pull it together, be prepared, stop leaving your uniform at home and show some effort, fake some enthusiasm. If the expectations aren’t clear, have a talk with the teacher. I understand not liking gym, believe me, but if you can perform well in all of your other classes, you can handle this one for five or six more months.

There’s a difference between failing becuase you have no physical skills, but tried, versus you blew off this class. what’s the reason for your grade concerns?
