I am not US citizen, but I would really like to attend a military school in US. I have somewhat good stats, though, 2280 on SAT, five AP 5s, 108 TOEFL. is it possible for a foreign student apply to West Point?

You must be a US citizen to serve as an officer in the US armed forces. So that puts you out of the running for most of the slots at West Point, since the main purpose of the school is to produce officers for the Army. However, they do accept a few foreign exchange students who plan to be officers back in their home country, so maybe those are a possiblity for you. You can find out more details by asking on the academy forums.

It is indeed possible for international students to apply. However, only a dozen or so end up attending each year, so it is very difficult to get in.

You really should speak to the USMA or to your local US ambassy to check on the specifics.

can’t get access to the first webpage you gave,Alexandre. as a matter of fact here I cannot even get access to the entire Westpoint website.
and could you tell me what does “Applicants must be nominated by their home government” mean exactly? Is there a election for eligible candidates or what?
many many many thanks.

PS: I am just wondering, is it easier for me to get into Princeton than make it to Westpoint?(as a foreign student)

Academically, it is probably harder to get into Princeton, but given the administrative requirements for international students to get into a military academy in another country, West Point may be harder to get into for international students.

As far as the process, you really are wasting your time here. We told you what to do; contact your local US Ambassy to get information on how citizens from your country go about applyin to the USMA. I assume you need a formal referral from a government official from your own country, but which offical and how you go about it only your local ambassy can tell you. And there are probably other requirements that only they can tell you about.

Good luck.

i see. thanks a lot.Alexandre
